Sudan’s main port has reopened after a three-day blockade by protesters who also forced the closure of the road linking the eastern city of Port Sudan with the capital, Khartoum.
Members of the Beija tribe complained that they had been excluded from a peace deal aimed at resolving long-running conflicts in the country.
They said the agreement had been signed by a rival tribe, the Beni Amer, with whom they have been clashing for several months.
The deal, between the government and an alliance of rebel groups, was signed on Saturday.
