Two fake Assistant Inspectors of Police, Bankole Odusi and Samuel Idowu have been arrested for impersonating police officers and unlawful possession of fire arms
Parading the suspects along with 17 others for various crimes include kidnapping, murder/ritual, cultism, robbery among others on Wednesday at Police headquarters in Asaba, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Mohammed Ali said that his primary assignment was to provide adequate security for the good people of Delta State.
He said, “RRS operatives while on stop and search duty at head bridge Asaba, intercepted a Ford vehicle with two occupants in police uniform.
“Upon search, a toy Beretta pistol was recovered from them. On interrogation, they initially said they were police officers but later admitted to be spy police.
CP Mohammed said that the command is not relenting in its tireless efforts to fight against crime and criminality, to sustain the force and ensure that criminally minded individuals will not see the state as a safe haven for them.
