The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, said the security situation across the state is improving significantly, commending security agencies for the efforts at ensuring peace and tackling insecurity in the state.
Obaseki stated this while reviewing the state’s security situation for October, after a joint security meeting with heads of various security agencies in the state.
The governor noted that they looked very closely into the issue of land grabbing and have resolved that a committee of private property protection bill specifies a task force to operationalize the law. That task force will be inaugurated on the 29th of this month.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Philip Ogbadu, called on residents to avoid travelling at night, saying that they are setting up measures to reduce crime across the state.
