The Federal Executive Council yesterday approved the award of a contract to Dangote Industries for the construction of five roads totaling 274.9 km at the cost of N309.9bn to be advanced to the company as tax credit.
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari
Fashola explained that the road contract, which was the second approved for his ministry by the council, would be implemented on concrete and would be the largest of such projects in the country.
The minister said the Council considered and approved the memorandum to facilitate the construction of 274km of concrete roads. Fashola also explained that the award of the contract to Dangote Group was consistent with funding options.
He said the list included the Obajana-Kabba Road and the Bodo-Bonny bridges and road, which council approved last week, through the NLNG.
