Osimhen Bags Brace As Napoli Go Top In Serie A

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen grabbed a brace for Napoli who extended their winning streak in Serie A to five games with a 4-0 thumping of Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

The win sees the Partenopei go top of the Italian Serie A table with 15 points from their opening five games.

The Nigeria international opened scoring for the Partenopei in the 10th minute, latching on to Lorenzo Insigne’s pass. He bagged his second of the game in the 50th minute striking from close range to hand his side a 3-0 advantage.

Fabian Ruiz and Piotr Zieliński were also on the score sheet. The brace was his second in Serie A since he joined from Lille last summer.

Prior to his brace against Sampdoria on Thursday, The 22-year-old scored twice against Spezia last season in Napoli’s 4-1 win in May and in the Partenopei’s 2-2 draw away at Leicester City in the Europa League.

The brace takes his tally to five in five games so far this season for the club.

The Nigerian could have scored as many as four goals in the encounter but failed to convert two golden chances in the first and second half.
